RTO Course Completion (Training Outcome)

Marine Training Academy delivers the approved training and assessment required for the Master 24 Near Coastal program.
Students must successfully complete all theory and practical assessments to be deemed competent and issued the relevant qualification outcome.
Trainer support is available throughout the course.

AMSA Certification Requirements (Certificate of Competency)

To obtain your AMSA Master 24 Near Coastal Certificate of Competency (CoC), you must meet AMSA certification requirements in addition to completing training. These requirements may include:

  • Holding a current HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid certificate
  • Completing the required AMSA Final Practical Assessment with an AMSA-approved assessor (booked separately, where applicable)
  • Meeting AMSA sea service requirements for Master 24 Near Coastal
  • Meeting medical fitness requirements as specified by AMSA
  • Lodging your CoC application and supporting documents through Australia Post, as required by AMSA

After submitting your application, you may be eligible to apply for an
Interim Certificate of Competency (ICOC) where applicable.
Copies of submitted documents must be retained, as they may need to be sighted during the ICOC process.

Fees and External Costs

AMSA licensing fees, application fees, medical costs (if required), and any AMSA-approved assessor fees are
not included in the course fee and are payable directly to the relevant provider.
