AMSA Requirements for Certificate of Competency (CoC):
- Hold HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid (completed externally)
- Successfully complete the AMSA-mandated Final Practical Assessment conducted by an AMSA-approved assessor
- Meet AMSA’s sea service requirements for Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 NC
- Pass a current AMSA medical examination (AMSA 1850) conducted by an approved medical provider
- Submit your Certificate of Competency (CoC) application and supporting documents at an Australia Post outlet
- After submission, apply to Marine Training Academy for your Interim Certificate of Competency (ICOC)
- Please retain copies of all submitted documents—your assessor must sight them to issue your ICOC
- Note: AMSA licensing and application fees are not included in the course price and must be paid directly to AMSA
